Changes to foreign investment fees
On Sunday 10 December 2023, the Treasurer announced changes to foreign investment fees, including:

Christmas/New Year holiday period
The Treasury and the Australian Taxation Office will close on the afternoon of Friday 22 December 2023 and re‑open at 9:00 am Tuesday 2 January 2024. Foreign investment proposals will not be processed during this shutdown period.

Fee indexation changes from 1 July 2023
Fee indexation changes come into effect from 1 July 2023. Updated guidance notes will be available from 6 July 2023
